Flowers In Bloom, Linocut & Product Design
Flowers In Bloom developed through a desire to explore lino printing further. To help set myself restrictions I decided to design for the National Trust. I set myself a challenge to create a set of 12 linocut flowers which could be used across a variety of different merchandise to be sold via the National Trust website, or through gift shops. I chose to create a calendar which would house the 12 lino flowers, one for each month and each month's flower bloomed within that month. Once cut and printed these were then scanned in and digitally coloured so that I had the ability to choose a colour palette which felt most fitting for the target audience. I decided to expand the collection to include a tea towel, a set of 12 notelets and a tote bag to showcase the versatility of my linocut designs.
